Ms. Yue (Jessica) Wang, a graduate student in Kaner Group at UCLA, was name the first place in the Science as Art competition at 2013 MRS Spring meeting.
The SEM image captures a thin-sheet network composed of doped aniline oligomers that are arranged to form a cluster that resembles a flower. The other flexible sheets also shown around the "flower" finish the beautiful science art by resembling leaves and stems. In addition to its beauty, the shown morphology exhibits ideal characteristics for organic supercapacitors and sensors, with its high surface area and electrical conductivity.
