The L'Oreal Foundation has a 10-year tradition of promoting the advancement of women in science. They have an exciting "For Women in Science" program.
The crown jewels of this program include L’Oréal-UNESCO award programs to recognize exceptional women scientists over each continent, and fellowships for young researchers world-wide. The program has benefited 1,729 women scientists from over 100 countries.
The winners of the 2013 L’Oréal-UNESCO awards, representing each of the five continents were Profs. Marcia Barbosa (Laureate for Latin America), Pratibha L. Gai (Europe), Deborah S. Jin (North America), Reiko Kuroda (Asia-Pacific), and Francisca Okeke (Africa-Arab States).
Winners of 2013 UNESCO-L’Oréal International Fellowships were: Drs. Naima Abattouy, Enkhmaa Davaasambuu, Laure El Chamy, Marina Faiella, Sri Fatwamati, Florencia Linero, Kanika Mitra, Eucharia Oluchi Nwaichi, Sahwa Adil Nourein, Osnat Penn, Devi Stuart-Fox, and Ms. Ariana Barbera, Lina Gallego, Allison Louthan, Marie Florence Ngo Ngwe, Osnat Penn, Lina Gallego, Ariana Barbera, Allison Louthan, and Anita Takura.
