Breaking News....Girls prefer being a scientist to a ballerina

Posted on January 1, 2016 at 6:05 PM

According to Forbes, a survey conducted by the Fatherly Imagination Report of ~500 children between the ages of 1(!) and 10 asked "what do you want to be when you grow up. The results warmed the cockles of WiN's heart.... More girls than boys (41% vs. 32%) want to be a scientist, engineer, or mathematician. While only a third (35%) of the children wanted a STEM career, the fact that more girls than boys are interested in science as a career is important. Let's hope this small survey is representative of the country's young children as a whole. Of course, there were some outlier answers that tickled WiN's funny bone, careers such as "mattress tester," "dinosaur," and "fixer" were our favorites.
